Is 2012 the End of the World ?As we know many people believe that the year of 2012 is the end of the world. The issue tend to make some people of Indonesia worry about life. Some of them committed suicide and the rest kept staying at home, because they were afraid of dying. They thought that if they did’n go out they would be safe. They were sure that the world is coming to the end. Everything would vanish from the earth.The issue came from the argument of the Maya ethnic group based on their calendar, showing that the end of the world would fall on the 21st of December 2012. So, they prepare woods for burning theirselves..This raises a question : What do the leaders of Islam think about it? In their opinion, only the unfaithful who believe that the doomsday will take place on the 21st of December 2012. The faithfull believe that the doomsday will surely happen, but no one knows when it will happen. Only Allah SWT knows. “That no one knows in what land he is to die.” (QS. Luqman : 34) وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ
